Chat with the Consulate: Switzerland
A Swiss Chocolate Tasting

July 21, 2009 - The third event in Boston International’s Chat with the Consulate series was hosted by swissnex Boston at their consulate in Cambridge. Swiss Consul Director Pascal Marmier kicked off the evening, giving an overview of swissnex Boston and its function in New England. Two swissnex team members, Pierre Dorsaz and Thomas Bühler, next discussed the consulate’s involvement in facilitating the exchange of ideas between Swiss schools and Boston area campuses.
Another important topic discussed was swissnex’s involvement with entrepreneurs. The consul works with entrepreneurs in both the U.S. and Switzerland to form ventures involving Swiss-incubated technology.
Following the talk, Jorg Amsler, pastry chef and owner of Truly Jorgs Patisserie in Saugus, amazed guests with a demonstration of how to carve a decorative flower out of a watermelon. Guests then sampled a variety of Swiss breads, cheeses and meats from a buffet provided by the consulate. Also available were delicious chocolates made at Jorg Amsler’s pastry shop. Consulate staff and Boston International members mingled as they enjoyed the Swiss buffet.
Our sincere thanks to swissnex Boston for hosting this fantastic event!
