Partha Ghosh: Globalization and Liberalization in India; Achievement, Failures and the Road Ahead

Boston International was pleased to present an event on Tuesday, September 21st with Partha Ghosh, a renowned management consultant and policy advisor for corporations and governments worldwide. A native of India, Mr. Ghosh discussed the country’s transformation into one of the world’s largest and fastest growing economies. He shared his perspectives on the mistakes that have been made since liberalizing its economy twenty years ago and the major challenges facing India today. Finally, he offered his insights into current and future economic policy and the road ahead for India.
About Partha Ghosh

Partha S. Ghosh, a true global citizen, is a policy advisor and strategist for corporations and governments worldwide. He assists various organizations with strategic decisions and corporate governance. As a professional consultant during the last thirty-three years, he has been closely involved with a broad array of strategic and policy issues in the technology industry as well as the conventional and renewable energy industries. Mr. Ghosh’s clients have described him as a “creative problem solver” and a “visionary leader.” More recently he has taught Globalization & Economics at the Tufts Gordon Institute, Innovation & Strategic Technologies at the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy, and Leadership at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After working as a partner at McKinsey & Company earlier in his career, Mr. Ghosh founded Partha S. Ghosh & Associates, a strategy and policy advisory firm where he serves as Managing Director. He has two advanced degrees in Engineering and Management from MIT and completed his undergraduate work at Indian Institute of Technology. An avid public servant, Mr. Ghosh is a founding member of The Boston Pledge and is involved with multiple philanthropic initiatives around the world. Given his wide range of interests – education reform, philosophy, international relations, science & engineering, business, economics, government, public service – and his experience across various cultures and industries, people who know him well describe him as a “modern day renaissance man.”
