“Pokin’ Holes” Featuring Sanergy

April 22nd, 2010 - Boston International, in partnership with DartBoston, hosted an evening of “Pokin’ Holes” at the Bain Conference room that was focused on the startup company Sanergy. They presented on their internationally-focused business plan and received live feedback from a panel of their peers and the audience.

About Sanergy

Sanergy provides sanitation services in the slums of Nairobi, where 81% of residents have no access to clean, private, and safe toilets. Sanergy collects the waste and, at a centralized facility, converts the waste into biogas and fertilizer. The biogas is sold to the grid and the fertilizer to local farmers. Sanergy addresses three critical issues – inadequate sanitation, a shortage of energy, and a lack of fertilizer – by creating a sustainable sanitation cycle. Through each action, Sanergy creates jobs, opportunity, and profit, while simultaneously addressing grave social challenges.
